By all accounts, the plumber on the number is the friendly, knowledgeable, plumber who operates out of the plumbing shop. The reason I am bringing this up, is that I am pretty sure he will be back on top again. And to top it off, he did his plumber business in Launceston.
Every single person I know (and I know quite a few) who has ever had someone work for someone else wants to know: “What is their deal?” The problem is that it is hard to pin down one specific Launceston plumber when it comes to piping and work from contractors, or tradespeople. Yes, we like to go to the same people for our services when it comes to plumbers, but why not do the legwork first and find out if they have any complaints against them?
Another thing that we like to do with people that we hire to come to work for us is to compare. Do we know where they came from? Do we know how much experience they have?
Let’s face it, every plumber needs to have some reputability. There is nothing worse than calling a plumber one day, and the next day calling them to find out that they have been through all kinds of trouble already. We usually have a set number of customers to provide service to before we even consider relining drains and that number is between 10 and 25 depending on the size of the job.
Once you get into relining drains, we want you to understand that it can be a big mess. Often times, we have customers that call to ask about what kind of holes to put in their lines, only to get a rather scattershot answer from the Launceston plumber. You should always ask how many inches they would need and get a nice long explanation.
Do not take it lightly when you are getting an estimate from them as well, ask for a bill statement. Do not allow them to tell you that they cannot give you a price because they do not have one. You may be able to get a better price later, as long as you get it from a reputable gas fitter.
The best plumbers will have all the answers for you, but sometimes, it is just a matter of asking. It is always nice to go ahead and ask about anything you do not understand. You should never feel pressure to choose someone to work for you. If you do feel a certain way, talk to them and find out why.
Of course, if you are looking for an experienced plumber, you can always go with the local plumber. This can be very helpful if you have a large job that needs doing as well as a smaller one.
One other important question that we hear from our customers is: Do we come to the job or do we go? We are here when you need us, no matter what time of day it is.
The other things that you should always ask them, is if they accept a flat rate or if there is an hourly rate. You should also ask if they do any pipe fitting for their customer, or if you are required to have the plumbing done by them. If you are going to have the plumbing done anyway, then by all means, take it to them.
Make sure you always remember: A reputable Launceston plumber should be the number one, without a doubt. Check them out.
