MacDiarmid/MESA Christchurch Earthquake Updates

For the latest news, please read the email updates from the MacDiarmid Institute.

Feb 25th, 2011: Any MESA members who are looking for assistance are encouraged to contact the committee and to follow the updates from the institute.  The situation is changing everyday and the needs of our members will become more apparent in the coming days and weeks.  There are several messages of support on this section of MacDiarmid website.

Feb 24th, 2011: To the best of our current knowledge, our Christchurch-based MacDiarmid colleagues and their families have escaped the worst. Sarah Dadley is co-ordinating temporary accomodation from outside Christchurch. If interested, please get in touch with Sarah (sarah.dadley@vuw.ac.nz, 04 463 6501). Messages of support can be sent to Emily Sullivan (MacDiarmid-Institute@vuw.ac.nz), and she will arrange to have them posted on the Institute site. Finally, a reminder that donations can be made at the Red Cross.

Feb 22nd, 2011: The University of Canterbury was evacuated and closed on Feb 22nd, 2011. Some student injuries reported. Industrial Research Limited (IRL) facilities in Christchurch badly damaged, but all staff in those facilities are safe and accounted for.
